Shiver Me Timbers!
Mother Nature must be giggling at all of us in Colorado. Last week, in the middle of January, she teased us with a taste of Spring: It was sunny and warm, with temperatures in the high 60s. Then, wham! Just like that, it's 10 degrees outside. Which means there's only one thing to do, of course - go outside and enjoy the snow!
Here are some pictures from a trail outside of Sivlerthorne, Colorado. Enjoy... from the warmth of your computer screen!

Fantasy Island
What a crazy wonderful place Antelope Island is, especially for a land-locked Coloradan like me. I've had the chance to visit Antelope Island twice now - in winter and spring. And I have to say that despite the chilly temps, a dusting of snow makes this place magical.
Situated in Utah's Great Salt Lake, the largest body of "sea water" in the world, the island covers 28,000 acres and is teaming with wildlife: antelope of course, but also bison, lynx, coyotes and porcupines - all of which I was lucky enough to see during my most recent trip.
I wasn't quick enough to capture shots of most of the animals I encountered. Luckily, though, bison like to stand still. Of course, the fact that the herd tops out somewhere near 550 also helps.
Got milk?

This "little" guy ran along side the car for a good 1/2 mile or so.
